The Woman Who Ended a War With a Tent Peg

One of the most unexpected heroes in the Bible wasn’t a king.

Wasn’t a prophet.

Wasn’t even a soldier.

She was a woman named Jael.

A fleeing enemy commander arrived at her tent seeking refuge.

She welcomed him.

Gave him something to drink.

Let him rest.

Then she did something so shocking that many Bible readers completely miss the story.

The enemy general never left her tent alive.

Why did Jael do it?

Hero or villain?

And why does the Bible praise her for it?

📖 Judges 4–5

Have you ever heard of Jael and Sisera?
