Yet the Bible mentions her repeatedly.
Asherah.
Not once.
Not twice.
Dozens of times.
And in one shocking verse, we read:
š āHe took the carved Asherah pole he had made and put it in the templeā¦ā (2 Kings 21:7)
Think about that for a moment.
An object connected to Asherah was placed inside the Temple of Yahweh.
How did that happen?
Who was she?
A goddess?
A symbol?
Or something far more controversial?
The mystery deepens when archaeologists uncovered ancient inscriptions that appear to link Yahweh and Asherah together.
Some researchers argue these discoveries suggest that certain Israelites may have worshipped Yahweh alongside a female divine figure.
Others insist the evidence is being misunderstood.
If Asherah was merely a false goddess, why does her name keep appearing throughout the biblical record?
And if she was so important, why do so few people know about her today?
