If there is only one Jesus…

Why are there four Gospels?

Why didn’t the early believers preserve just one official account?

Instead, the Bible begins the New Testament with four separate books:

• Matthew
• Mark
• Luke
• John

Each tells the story of Jesus.

Each includes details the others do not.

Some events appear in all four.

Others appear in only one.

So the question remains:

Why four Gospels instead of one?
