How Did Noah Know Which Animals Were “Clean”?

Long before Moses received the Law on Mount Sinai…

Long before Leviticus explained clean and unclean animals…

God told Noah:

“Take with you seven pairs of every kind of clean animal… and one pair of every kind of unclean animal.” (Genesis 7:2)

But here’s the question…

How did Noah know which animals were clean?

The Bible doesn’t record God explaining the difference to Noah.

So where did that knowledge come from?

• Was it passed down from Adam?
• Did God instruct Noah privately?
• Or does this suggest that the distinction between clean and unclean animals existed long before the Law of Moses?

It’s a small detail that many readers overlook…
