Most people know what happened on Friday.
And they know what happened on Sunday.
But what about Saturday?
For nearly 2,000 years, one mysterious passage has sparked debate:
📖 “He went and made proclamation to the imprisoned spirits.” (1 Peter 3:19)
Who were these imprisoned spirits?
Where were they being held?
And why would Jesus visit them after His death?
Some believe He descended into Hell itself.
Others argue He entered a realm of the dead known as Paradise, Hades, or Sheol.
Some say He went to announce victory.
Others say He went to preach.
A few believe He went to free ancient souls.
The strange part?
The Bible never gives a clear, detailed explanation.
Yet this single verse became one of the foundations for the ancient Christian belief that Jesus descended into the underworld before His resurrection.
So what really happened during those missing hours?
🤔 Where do you think Jesus went between the cross and the empty tomb?
