No introduction.
No family line.
No background story.
Just… a sudden appearance in Scripture.
Abram is returning from battle when someone strange steps onto the scene:
Melchizedek.
King of Salem.
Priest of the Most High God.
He brings bread and wine.
And then he does something even more unusual:
He blesses Abram.
Not the other way around.
And Abram—victor of war, father of nations—does something no conqueror is asked to do…
He gives him a tenth of everything.
No negotiation.
No ceremony.
No explanation.
Just recognition.
Then—just as quickly as he appears—Melchizedek is gone.
No death record.
No genealogy.
No continuation of story.
He enters history like a shadow…
and leaves like a mystery.
And that’s where the tension begins:
Why would Scripture introduce someone so important…
and give almost no details about where he came from or where he went?
What if some figures in the Bible were never meant to be fully explained…
but meant to make you ask deeper questions instead?
