God promised them a land flowing with milk and honey. Yet when you read their stories closely, something stands out.
Abraham lived as a foreigner in Canaan and owned only a burial cave.
Isaac remained a sojourner, often facing disputes over wells and grazing land.
Jacob spent years outside Canaan, returned later in life, and eventually died in Egypt.
If the patriarchs were the very people God made the promise to, why did none of them seem to fully possess the land during their lifetime?
Was God’s promise always intended for their descendants rather than for them personally?
