This has always puzzled me.
Jacob disguised himself as Esau, lied to his blind father Isaac, and received the blessing that was meant for his brother.
Yet instead of losing Godâs favor, Jacob went on to become Israelâthe father of the twelve tribes. God even reaffirmed His covenant with him.
So hereâs my question:
If deception is a sin, why did Jacob still receive such extraordinary blessings?
Did God approve of what Jacob did?
Was the blessing valid simply because Isaac had spoken it?
Or was God fulfilling His plan despite Jacobâs wrongdoing?
The Bible doesnât hide the failures of its heroes, and this story raises questions that deserve honest discussion.
Whatâs your interpretation of this passage?
Please keep the discussion respectful. Thoughtful answers from every perspective are welcome.
