There is a difference between tradition and diabolism.
Tradition is the way of life handed down by our ancestors. It reflects a people’s identity, values, customs, language, and communal heritage. Diabolism, on the other hand, is the deliberate practice of evil—the manipulation, oppression, or harm of others through wicked acts.
The mistake many people make is treating the two as if they are the same. They are not.
A people can preserve their culture, respect their heritage, and uphold noble customs without embracing practices that are cruel or destructive. Likewise, a person can commit evil while hiding behind the name of tradition.
When tradition loses its moral foundation and becomes a tool for fear, oppression, or wickedness, it ceases to be a noble tradition and becomes something else entirely.
The challenge, therefore, is not to abandon every tradition, but to distinguish what preserves humanity from what destroys it.
A wise society knows the difference.
